(Champ) Recommend to ISR at spring meeting 2010 to open the Champ ignition rule to read “Ignition systems may be modified and changed”. This will allow teams an alternate option with ignitions.
*** Champ is a core class this is a recommendation only, ignition rule may or may not be changed dependant on ISR meeting in May we will update the web with ISR rule changes after finalized***

(All Classes with Rounds) We will now point the heats to reflect finish without an added penalty for a DNF. Currently drivers would be given 10 points no matter where you were at the time of breakdown or crash. We will now point you at the position finished.

(All Classes with Rounds) We will no longer penalize drivers 15 points if you do not start a heat. We will give you points based on number of sleds in the class. (Last place plus 1 point).

(All Classes with Rounds) In the event multiple drivers end up in a tie and we must use an LCQ we will allow all remaining drivers to participate in the LCQ with the opportunity to make the final. Currently only those who are tied would be allowed to participate.

(Vintage) USSA has agreed to incorporate Vintage classes to cover the most common participants within our regular daily schedule in hopes of drawing and developing a regular Vintage presence at our events.

(Stock Sprint) We have opened up the class engine definition to allow all 0 to 600 CC motors as defined by class rules. Previously 440cc or lower were not allowed to run.

(F500) Recommend to ISR that this become a “Core Class” with governed consistent rules across the country. This should help with the discrepancies between sanctioning bodies. We will also recommend that the class rules remain in the ISR book as currently written without changes.

(Junior Novice Ages 10-11) Arctic Cat; Puma/Jag 340 and Z 370, Polaris; Indy Lite 340, Indy 340, Indy 340 Deluxe and 340 Edge, Skidoo; Formula S368, MXZ 380, Freestyle 300, and Tundra 300, Yamaha; Ovation 340 & legal F-500 sleds (The f-500 sled must be restricted in the following manner to be able to compete. The gear ratio is fixed at 15/39 and a carburetor restrictor plate must be used between the carburetor mounting boot and the cylinder. Restrictor plates are available from the USSA Director of Competition and have a deposit required)

(Junior 1 Ages 11-13) Same sleds as Junior Novice 11 year old can run both. USSA may re-evaluate gearing restriction as the field of competition establishes itself.

(Junior 11 Ages 14-15) Any stock qualified fan cooled snowmobile up to 600cc and/or unrestricted F500.

( Junior 11 Sprint Ages 14-15) Remains same for 2010-11. Recommend to be replaced with the Limited Chassis platform and stock motor/pipe after 6-30-11 USSA has agreed on a system to gain additional junior teams. We will continue to run junior classes on both Saturday and Sunday, When a competitor enters a junior class on Saturday paying regular class entry fee then returns to compete in the same classes on Sunday only an administration fee of $15 per class will be charged. We will only point the Sunday results. If a competitor chooses to run the Sunday Classes only the regular class entry fee structure will be used.

(F500 Women’s) We will offer a Women’s only F500 class at all events this year and will run the event if we get 2 takers! Come out and show the boys how to do it!

(Schedule of Events) In an effort to help the promoter maintain attendance USSA will be assigning a time at each day’s event to run the Final’s in both 600 open and Champ. We will rearrange the schedule as necessary to ensure these finals are ran.

USSA will be eliminating the current trailer used for registration. We decided to convert the smaller trailer we already own to conserve funds instead of purchasing a new one. This will save on repair and towing expenses. Look for a different registration trailer first race next year.

No other changes are being considered at this time.

USSA Director of Competition Jerry Korinek 01-22-10

In answer to several calls: In USSA F-500 class brakes and jackshafts will follow ISR rules for the balance of the season. Variations seen at the Derby will not be allowed as they are regional rules applied in SCM and other organizations. Thank you.

Press Release 10-30-09
Update: Jerry Korinek Director of Competition-USSA

The latest version of our Pro-Star payout for next season is posted. Please review and be aware of the following. (Under Links Section) Pro Star money will be banked till seasons end. You must attend all events in order to qualify for Pro Star payoff. Exception to this is, anyone hurt racing at a USSA event and their injury prohibits them from continuing the season will be paid all earned funds.
We wish to thank Josh Wilson and Mark Powers who again gathered Pro Star funding from our various class sponsors. Additional funding that is required will come from the USSA treasury as part of our benefits to driver members. You will notice on the Pro Star payoff sheet that we also have listed the classes ran at our events and the method we use to calculate payoff. Many members do not realize how this is done and this chart will assist them in understanding the payoff procedure. We will again pay regular payback from events the following event during drivers meeting.
We must have your social security number on file or we will hold all checks until you comply by supplying your number.
You can contact either Lisa or myself to ensure this is done. Semi Pro Champ drivers, special note, your class has been elevated from a 70% payback class to a 100% payback class effective this season.
While this will offer the association less operating funds, it is felt by the board that the participation level and quality of competition offered by the drivers in this class earned the 100% payback.
Congratulations Semi Pro Champ drivers! I have noticed the forum has been unusually slow this season, while I do get a number of phone calls for tech determinations. If at all possible please check the forum often and post your questions there. Of course, if you feel your question will alleviate any technical advantage you may have, I will always take questions by phone or e mail on a confidential basis. Please review the forum to see the boards recent clarification on questions on 600 Stock Fan Sprint and Junior II Sprint requirements.

Press Release 9-9-09

USSA Director of Competition Jerry Korinek USSA is pleased to announce that effective our 2010 season; USSA will offer all Junior classes on both days of competition. For many seasons parents of Junior’s have asked for the availability of more lap time for young competitors, and USSA sees this effort as an answer to that request. During both Saturday and Sunday events USSA will offer Junior Novice, Junior I Sprint, Junior II Sprint, F-500 Junior I and F-500 Junior II at all events.
While the racers will be awarded medallions for both days racing efforts, Sunday’s events will be the point garnering days, for the end of season high points Champion in each class. The two day offering will fill many requests for extra lap time, but to alleviate issues where other activities or travel funding may restrict a competitor from being at an event for both days; points for season end are only awarded on Sundays events. High point trophies at season end will be awarded in Junior I Sprint, Junior II Sprint, F-500 Junior I, and F-500 Junior II. Trophies for Junior I Sprint and F-500 Junior I will be awarded by Schaus Roofing and Mechanical Contractors, while Junior II Sprint and F-500 Junior II will be presented by North East Wisconsin Toro Dealers. USSA feels this effort will encourage Junior’s to develop their skills and move up the ranks to join the field of USSA’s present Pro drivers.
