April 15, 2012 Board Meeting Highlights
-First action was to seat the new board for upcoming year and elect officers. Leonard Wiedemeier –President, Mark Powers-Vice President, Jerry Korinek-Treasurer and Justin Olszewski-Treasurer.
-Listened to a presentation from some of the promoters on plans for the upcoming year. Items covered were safety, communications and upgrades to facilities for the upcoming year.
-Covered input from general session.
-The board will be looking at how PROSTAR money will be paid. Focus on the driver’s conceptual difference between paying the money at the end of the year vs. paying out at each event. Will be taken up at next board meeting.
-Classes that will be offered for the 2012-2013 will be slightly different than the past years but all sleds that raced last year will have a class to race in this year.
-Classes USSA are planning to be offering as of the meeting are: Jr. F500 11-13, Jr. F500 14-15, Jr. 1 Sprint, Jr. 2 Sprint, Jr. 1 340, F500 Sport, Women F500, F500 Saturday Premier, Sportsman 600, Sportsman 600/F500 Combo, Limited 500 (70% payback), Limited 500 Sunday Premier, Semi Pro Champ/Pro Sprint 600/Limited 600 Combo class, Semi Pro Champ/Pro Sprint 600/Limited 600 Combo class Sunday, Outlaw, Champ 440, Outlaw Sunday, Champ 440 Sunday .
Although the names of the classes may be different when registering next winter these are the classes we are planning on for next year. However, things can change based on show times, weather conditions and possible future class developments.
-Went over the upcoming ISR agenda items.
-Passed guideline for Monetary Gifts from USSA to members and affiliates.
-Covered result from questionnaire on discipline guidelines.
-Covered possible promotional opportunities and sponsorships for the upcoming year. The next board meeting a plan for upcoming year will be set.
-Other items covered were junior participation, history documentation, press releases, track shaver and Hot Pit security.

Board election results

Steve Henke and Mark Powers were elected from Saturday's elections at the Driver's Forum, for 3 year terms. Lisa Brown and Jerry Korinek were elected by the standing board, for three years term. Also Election of Board Members, for one year terms: President Leonard Wiedemeier, Vice President Mark Powers, Secretary Justin Olszewski, Treasurer Jerry Korinek all also serve on the the executive board plus Jim Gokey and Josh Wilson.

Actions taken on classes for next year:
�
- Stock Sprint Fan is eliminated
- 600 open is eliminated
- Outlaw 600 class has been added and run on Saturday and Sunday with payout and entry fees similar to Champ. No pro-star money is the current structure as approved.
- F500 Sport has been added. Entry fee will be $10 + 15 = $25 and race for a flag. I will only be offered to competitors who did not finish in the top 3 for USSA, ORA,SCM or EPT. Will be offered for next year and evaluated at the end of the season.
- Changes to Vintage will be from PRO MOD to SUPER MOD (85 and older)
- All other class offering will be the same.

Number of Laps.
�
Due to the majority of drivers who voted for 5 laps the board approved 5 laps will be the default. However if changes need to be implemented such as promotor request or ice conditions the lap count could change.

Junior class winners compensation

Motion was passed to issue Saving Bonds to Junior winners.
�
Tunnel enclosures.
�
Concerns were raised about the tunnel enclosures being seen on some recent sleds. This issue will be handled and enforced by the Technical Staff.
